 About Jon Lam

 Jon Lam was trained as a Graphic Artist and is familiar with various media. He worked for a couple of years as a Graphic artist before he embarked on a teaching career for 23 years. Jon picked up his brushes again after retirement and has quickly established himself as a full time artist in Melbourne.

 

Jon has participated in many group shows and has won several awards including First Prize in the Amaroo Art Show at Chadstone (2014) with "Cezannesque Apples" (Acrylics). He also won the Mayor's Award and Best In Show at the Box Hill and WAA 62nd annual Exhibition in September 2014, with "Harbour Lights 2", (Oil). In December 2014, Jon won first prize for "Beyond Repair", (Watercolour) at the Whitehorse Arts Association's Art Show. This trifecta of prizes evidently show that he is very proficient in all the medium he laid his hands on.

 

Jon’s second solo exhibition, “Expressions of Interest”, was very well received at the Alton Gallery in Echuca during the entire month of October 2014. It showcased his flair for various media and styles.

 

Jon is a member of the Victorian Artist Society Inc., Echuca-Moama Artists Inc. and the Whitehorse Arts Association.
